AccessAble Launch Partnership with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has officially launched a series of Detailed Access Guides, developed in partnership with AccessAble, for King's College Hospital and Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH).

As part of this partnership, over 150 Detailed Access Guides have been created, covering a wide range of the Trust’s wards, departments, and facilities. These Guides are now available via the AccessAble website.

Join us at our launch events

The partnership is being celebrated with launch events over two of the Trust sites on July 16th and 17th 2025. Staff, patients and carers are encouraged to join AccessAble and Trust staff at these events to discover how the guides wll help patients, visitors, and carers to plan their visits with greater ease and confidence.

A live demonstration of the AccesAble platform will take place in the boardroom of King's College Hospital, on July 16th, between 11am – 12.30pm. This event is also a chance to hear insights into accessibility improvements across the site.

To attend this event please register by contacting the King’s Collaborators Hub at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust by telephone on 020 3299 3682 or email at kings.collaborators@nhs.net.

The following day, July 17th, AccessAble staff will be taking the launch information stand to the canteen of Princess Royal University Hospital. Patients, staff members and carers are all welcome to come along and discover how accessibility and inclusion is being improved, learn how to use AccessAble, ask questions and share feedback and pick up helpful resources.

There is no need to book for the Princess Royal University Hospital event, just head along and have a chat!

AccessAble Access Guides

The Detailed Access Guides provide detailed facts, figures and photographs to help patients, visitors and staff plan their journeys to and around the Trust facilities, covering everything from parking facilities and assistive listening devices to walking distances and accessible toilets.

Angela Helleur, Chief Delivery Officer at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, and people visiting our hospitals may have questions about facilities, such as hearing loops, walking distances and accessible toilets.

“Our work with AccessAble will help make sure that our visitors and patients can visit our sites with confidence and ease, and ensure we have an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone.”

Dr Gregory Burke, Founder and Executive Chair of AccessAble, said:

“We are thrilled to partner with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in creating comprehensive Detailed Access Guides that empower disabled people and those who require additional accessibility support to visit the hospitals with confidence and independence.

“Our Guides are designed to give a clear insight into what services will be like, allowing people to feel assured that the environment will meet their needs or enable them to have a conversation around reasonable adjustments. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Trust for partnering with us and sharing our vision of an NHS where disabled people and carers can access exceptional care, independently and with dignity.”
