AccessAble partners with Edge Hill University to create 300+ Detailed Access Guides

Edge Hill University has partnered with AccessAble to launch a comprehensive series of Detailed Access Guides, designed to help all visitors navigate the Lancashire campus with confidence.

There are over 300 Detailed Access Guides now available at www.AccessAble.co.uk, offering accurate, up-to-date information on the accessibility of buildings, teaching spaces, libraries, sports facilities and residences across the Edge Hill University campus.

Designed to support a wide range of access needs, the Guides were created through a thorough accessibility assessment.

Each Detailed Access Guide offers comprehensive information and photographs covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

Adrian McGillion, Director of Facilities Management at Edge Hill University, said:

“At Edge Hill, we believe an outstanding campus environment is one where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to access all that university life has to offer. These new AccessAble Guides are a vital step forward in ensuring our spaces are inclusive by design—supporting students, staff, and visitors to navigate our campus with confidence. As highlighted at this year’s AUDE conference and by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, true accessibility means placing the needs of all users at the heart of our thinking—and that’s exactly what these guides help us achieve.

“These AccessAble Guides are a key part of making our campus more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. They help ensure that accessibility is embedded in how we think about and design our spaces at Edge Hill.”

Dr. Gregory Burke, Founder and Executive Chair of AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to launch Detailed Access Guides to Edge Hill University. The University has worked closely with us to ensure that comprehensive, accurate accessibility information for the campus is readily available. This is vital for disabled students, staff, and visitors and ultimately benefits the entire university community.

“This collaboration is part of our continued efforts to remove barriers within higher education and to support a more inclusive and equitable experience for all. We are pleased to welcome Edge Hill University into our national network of 100+ universities across the UK committed to advancing inclusion and supporting disabled people across the sector.”
