Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- Please note that the boardwalk around the reserve and the bird hide are not suitable for trampers or other mobility scooters.
Outdoor Spaces (Malham Tarn)
- This information is for the access point located at the rear of Watersinks car park.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: open countryside and a glacial lake.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, gravel, compact earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight slopes along the route from the car park.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have easy open gates which may create obstacles for some users.
Hikes and Trails (Watersinks to Malham Tarn)
- The trail is approximately 1 mile long.
- This is an out and back route.
The route begins at the Watersinks car park and continues North.
Go along the grassed path until you can see the wall.
Go through the gate and the Tarn is on the left. - The trail is open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: grass, gravel and mud.
- Some of the route contains very uneven surfaces.
- These are found in the following areas: along to the route towards the gate for Malham Estate.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- The route has information boards with large maps.
- Seating is not available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
- There is 1 standard toilet at the Orchid House next to Tarn House.
