Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- There are two wheelchairs available to borrow with no charge.

Route to (the Woodland)
- Exit the visitor reception via the café, following the signs to the right.
Go through the gate directly ahead turn left towards the house, going down the steps directly in front.
There are steep paths either side of the Tulip Folly, which lead down to the Woodland. - The route to the area includes more than 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel, grass and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The access points to the area are located to the right of the house, either side of the tulip folly.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland and gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, block paving, gravel, compact earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- There are steep ramps without handrails to access the terraced garden.
There are 28 unmarked steps without handrails to access the terraced garden from the house.
There are 30 unmarked steps with no handrails to access the hornbeam tunnel from the tulip folly. - There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have gates which may create obstacles for some users.
