Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- There are two wheelchairs available to borrow with no charge.

Route to (the Longwalk)
- Exit the visitor centre via the café and follow the signs to the right.
Go through the gate directly ahead turn left and go down the steps in front of the house.
Follow the path to the right and The Longwalk is beyond the kissing gate on the left. - The route to the area includes more than 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel, grass and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located at the kissing gate beyond All Hallows Church.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a kissing gate at the surveyed access point.
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The gate has a latch lock.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, block paving, loose stones and wood.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes with handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- There is a slight slope with no handrails approaching the Abbey.
There are 15 unmarked steps leading down to the Chinese bridge.
There is a steep ramp up and down with no handrails to cross the Chinese bridge.
The bridge is 121cm wide.
