Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- There are two wheelchairs available to borrow with no charge.

Route to (Glasshouse and Silk Route Garden)
- Exit the café and follow the signs to the right.
Go through the gate directly ahead turn left towards the house, going down the steps.
The Silk Route Garden is on the right, behind All Hallows Church. - The route to the area includes more than 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel, grass, cobbles and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located behind All Hallows Church.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, gravel, uncompacted earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight slopes in the Silk Route Garden due to the natural terrain.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- There is step free access in the Glasshouse, via a permanently held open door. The width of the door is 133cm. There is step free access throughout the Glasshouse.
