Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- Equipment cannot be borrowed or hired.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Advance booking of the powered mobility vehicle is essential.

Route to (the Arboretum)
- Enter via the open access point and proceed directly ahead.
There is a slight slope along this path.
The arboretum is to the right of the kiosk. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, loose wood chippings and sand.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the right of the visitor kiosk.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment, parkland, woodland and gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, wood bark, grass, compact earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight and steep slopes without handrails due to the natural terrain.
There are steps with no handrails at the Azalea Steps down to the Boathouse.
There is an alternative route which has steep slopes.
There are steps with no handrails on the pathway to the Bluebell Wood. - There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Playground

- There is a route around the play equipment which is firm and even, and is at least 150cm wide.
- The play equipment is in easy reach for seated and standing users, and users of different heights.
- The following play experiences are available: sliding, climbing, balancing, crawling, viewing, sensory (visual, audible and or tactile).
Entrance (The Boathouse)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going up.
- There are double manual doors which are permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 115cm.
- There is a second set of manual doors which are permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 140cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- There is a slight lip of approximately 2cm between the path approaching the Boathouse and the wooden walkway in front of the entrance.
Attraction / Exhibit (The Boathouse)
- The majority of walkway widths are over 180cm.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Exhibit information includes the following formats: pictorial and information board.
- The exhibits do not have hearing assistance systems.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are tables available in the area.
- All flooring in the area is smooth and even.
- Lighting levels are low.
Hikes and Trails (Walks)
- The walk is approximately 1km.
- Visitors join the walk to the right of the visitor kiosk and walk directly ahead.
Turn right at the signpost, follow the pathway round and turn left at the junction.
Turn right at the next signpost and left at the following signpost.
Follow the path back to the visitor kiosk. - The walk is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: loose chippings, mud and sand.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: By signpost 5.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has information boards with large maps, handheld maps and online maps.
