Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located in the car park.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
  • The width of the gap is 102cm.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, block paving and gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and less than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
  • The slight slopes and steps are located at the rear of the garden.
  • There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Picnic Area

  • The following information describes the picnic area located on the right side of the garden.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There are bench seats and picnic tables.
  • No chairs have armrests on both sides.
  • Adapted picnic tables are not available.
  • The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 69cm.
  • The following furniture is permanently fixed: some of the chairs and all of the tables.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass.

Entrance (Access to Toilet with Adaptations)

  • The entrance surveyed is located on the right side of the pavilion entrance.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 87cm.

Toilet with Adaptations (Near Pavilion - Ambulant - Right Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located to the right side of the pavilion entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
  • The door has a sliding bolt lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 140cm x 207cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 82cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the transfer side.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical rail on the right side of the wash basin.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: toilet roll holder, wash basin and soap dispenser.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: hand dryer.
  • The height of the toilet seat above floor level is 44cm.
  • The height of the toilet roll holder is 97cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever.
  • The height of the wash basin is 83cm.
  • The height of the soap dispenser is 91cm.
  • The height of the hand dryer is 109cm.

  • There is a pull cord emergency alarm at a recommended height (within 10cm from the floor).
  • There is a shelf located where it is reachable for seated and standing users.
