Route to (the Gardens and Parkland)
- Take the main pathway from the Visitor Reception.
As you approach the Long Barn Café, there is an entrance to the parkland on your left.
Continue past the Café through the John Arnold Garden.
As you follow the path up a slope, you will see a second entrance to your parkland on your left before you cross over the Haha bridge into the rest of the gardens. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, concrete and muddy.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces (Gardens and Parkland)
- This information is for the access point located after the visitors centre.
- Access into the area is via steps, slight ramps/slopes and steep ramps/slopes.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are 4 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland, woodland and formal gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The site is located on the hill and there are upward slopes on every pathway.

- This information is for the access point located to the right of the Long Barn Cafe.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, grass and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- The playground site is on a slope which varies between slight and steep. Once inside the entrance, there is a steep slope to all play facilities.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- There are no firm and even routes over 150cm wide round the play equipment.
- The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, rotating, climbing and crawling.
- There is a refreshment kiosk inside the playground entrance. There is level access to the kiosk and seating area. Chairs with armrests are available.
