Summary

- The most accessible entrance has step-free level access and a door permanently held open.
- This entrance is through the Coffee Bar seating area, on the right side of the Manor.
- There is step-free access to the majority of the venue once inside.
- As you enter there are two steps to another part of the shop.
A portable ramp is available and staff are available to assist. - There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- Staff/volunteers can describe the layout and access around the site.
- The following are also available: seating, a clearly signed hearing assistance system, a companion/carer discount, facilities for assistance dogs, maps, on site-transport, a large map in the car park and an information board in the car park.
- At the time of our visit the hearing assistance system was working.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from the Welcome Pavilion, North Fountain Shuttlebus drop-off and the Manor House. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Manor Shop)
- The fastest and most accessible route to the Manor Shop is via the estate's shuttlebus.
The pick up point is next to the visitor car park at the Welcome Pavilion.
Board the bus for the short journey to The North Fountain drop off point.
Head down the gravel drive until you reach the Manor.
Turn left and follow the path with a slight slope around the side of the house to the Coffee Bar.
The entrance to the Manor Shop is directly ahead. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Shop (Manor Shop)
- There is step-free level access into the shop.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 96cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around some of the shop.
- Access around the shop is via a steep ramp/slope (which bypasses the steps).
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 90cm.
- There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- Services/facilities available in the shop include: a portable card machine for payment and a member of staff to provide assistance.

- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, takeaway cutlery and a portable card machine for payment.
