Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses and communication cards.

Route to (the Kitchen Garden)
- Follow the path down from the welcome building and then continue through Home Farm and up the hill.
Follow the main driveway down the hill, continue past Tyntesfield House until you reach a crossroads.
At the crossroads, continue down the hill. - The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the right of the Pavilion Café, on the left side of the garden.
- Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- There is an alternative gate entrance on the right side of the garden which is 105cm wide.
There are multiple steps down to the garden from this entrance. - The following outdoor facilities are available: gardens.
- The outdoor facilities also include: greenhouses.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac and gravel.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are less than 3 steps without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas .
- There are steps in the greenhouse areas.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
