Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses and communication cards.

Route to (the House Gardens)

  • Follow the path down from the welcome building and then continue through Home Farm and up the hill.
    Follow the main driveway down the hill then take a right and you will be in front of Tyntesfield House.
    Continue down the right hand side of the house, past the toilets and through the courtyard until you are at the back area of the house.
    The entrance to the gardens will be ahead of you to the right of the main stepped access point.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, tarmac and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.

  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
