Route to (the Chapel)

  • From the welcome building, follow the path through Home Farm and up the hill.
    Follow the main driveway down towards the house following the finger post signage to house.
    There are benches every 50 metres throughout this route.
    You will come to a large cross roads.
    Follow the wide gravel path to the main house entrance.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.

Entrance

  • The entrance surveyed is located on the left side of the Chapel.
  • There is stepped access at the entrance.
  • There are 10+ steps, which are unmarkedno handrails.
  • All of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 65cm.
  • There is a second manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 65cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
  • There is a rope going up the left of the stairs to provide support.

Event Space

  • There is stepped access to the upper chapel area. To access the chapel bridge, there are 2 individual steps. There is a further step up into the chapel itself.
  • Some of the flooring includes large repeating patterns in bold colours, which may look like steps or holes to some people.
  • Lighting levels are moderate to good.
  • There are chairs without armrests available in the space.
  • The space does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There is uneven historic flooring that is covered in protective rubber matting.

Exit

  • The exit is located on the right hand side of the Chapel.
  • There is not step-free access at the exit.
  • There are 2 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
  • The steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm) .
  • There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 114cm.
  • There is a second set of manual doors which opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 110cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the exit with a height of more than 1.5cm.
