Entrance (The Infirmary)

- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.

Attraction / Exhibit (The Infirmary)
- Access into the area is via a standard lift.

Tour (External Guided - Infirmary Building)
- The tour is guided.
- The tour takes approximately 30 minutes.
- There is step-free access via slope along the tour route.
- The majority of walkway widths are over 180cm.
- There is no (or very little) background noise along the tour route.
- There are bench seats at regular intervals along the tour.
- Flooring along the tour route is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles and gravel.
- The guided tour covers the exterior of the Infirmary Building and the Mortuary.
Lift (The Infirmary)
- A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.

- Externally the lift has: controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user, buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and a door with a medium colour contrast to the surroundings.

- Internally the lift has: Braille markings, controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user, tactile markings and buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings.

Stairs (The Infirmary)
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are 1.
- There are 15 steps between floors.
- The steps are clearly marked with handrails on both sides.
- The highest step is 16cm high.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
Entrance (The Infirmary Café)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front right of the Infirmary Building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 86cm.
Eating and Drinking (The Infirmary Café)
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, easy grip cutlery and large-handled mugs.
- Lighting levels are bright.
- There is background noise here which varies, depending on the time of day.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- There is a counter over 85cm high with a tray rail.
- The counter is 96cm high.
- There is not a section of the counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.

- There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 81cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 216cm x 225cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 136cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a spatula flush on the transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.
