Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.
  • You can borrow these from the Visitor Reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
  • All-terrain manual wheelchairs are also available in addition to regular manual wheelchairs.

Route to (Garden)

  • Follow the path from the car park until you reach the gate.
    Continue past the gate and cross Main Road, then continue ahead.
    At the fork, turn left and follow the path ahead past the house.
    At the fork, turn right and continue, where the garden will be ahead.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located to the right of the house.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, grass and gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are less than 3 steps without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
