Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Garden)
- On leaving the car park, turn left and continue following the path.
The garden access point is to the right of the membership and tickets hut. - The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Visitor Reception (Membership and Tickets)
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) throughout the area.
- Some of the flooring is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to gravel.
- The majority of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 114cm.
- There is not a low level section at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.

Toilet with Adaptations (Garden Portaloo - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)

- This toilet is approximately 6m from the membership and tickets hut.
- There is no signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 137cm x 138cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 84cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a lever flush on the non transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: toilet roll holder.
- The height of the toilet seat above floor level is 56cm.

Standard Toilet (Garden Portaloo)

- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- The gender neutral toilet was surveyed.
- There are no hand dryers.
- Hand sanitiser is available.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located straight ahead past the membership and tickets hut.
- Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: temples, monuments and lakes.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, loose chippings, grass, gravel, compact earth and wood.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails, less than 3 steps without handrails and more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.

Picnic Area
