Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- Equipment cannot be borrowed or hired.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- The tramper cannot be used at all locations.
Please discuss with a member of staff upon borrowing.
Route to (The Harbour Loft - Side)
- From the visitor reception (Change House Mount Office) go right along the harbour.
Turn left after the Barge House and then pass the Mount Shop on your right.
Continue up a slight slope and 7 steps and the Harbour Loft will be on your right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and includes more than 3 steps with a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Route to (The Harbour Loft - Rear Exit - Accessible)
- From the visitor reception (Change House Mount Office) go right along the harbour.
Turn left after the you pass the Mount Shop on your left.
Continue around the building, turning back on yourself.
The Harbour Loft will be on your left, where you can use the ramp to access the restaurant via the exit. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance (Side)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the side of the building.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There are 7 steps, which are unmarked, with handrails on both sides.
- Steps are split with a resting area.
- The handrails do not cover all steps.
- Some of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 97cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a restaurant which serves afternoon tea and sandwiches.
- Tables can be booked in advance.
- There is full table service.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: handheld menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws and a portable card machine for payment.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is background noise here.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- There is a counter over 85cm high without a tray rail.

Exit (Rear)

- There is a slight slope between 75cm and 150cm wide beyond the exit, with a handrail on the left going down.
Toilet with Adaptations (Right Hand Transfer with Room Mate)
- This toilet is located on the harbour front.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- This toilet is approximately 60m from the the Harbour Loft entrance.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 161cm x 237cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 94cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the non transfer side and a vertical rail on the right side of the wash basin.

- There is a chair without armrests available in the room.
