Summary

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Estate)
- Leave visitor reception by the entrance and head to the right.
To the right of the car park map and information board, take the open gate into the gardens.
Continue ahead, then turn to the left through the open gate, taking the path to the rear of the house.
The estate is ahead. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, tarmac, gravel and grass.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the left off the main garden path.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 90cm.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The slight and steep slopes are throughout the estate.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Picnic Area (Dovecote)
- The following information describes the picnic area located by the Dovecote, at the right side of the house.
- Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 72cm.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 75cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass.
Hikes and Trails (PMV Route around Grounds)
- The trail is approximately 1 mile long.
- Leave the car park to the right of visitor reception.
Follow the road round past the front of the house, then turn left and pass through the courtyard where there is a steep slope.
Continue along the path past the back of the house, then take the path to the right into the woodland.
Follow the path ahead around the walled allotments, turning left at the end of the wall.
Re-enter the car park area at the end of the trail. - The hike is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, grass and gravel.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: the courtyard area to the right of the house.
- There are alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- Seating is not available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
