Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, activity sheets and accessible maps.
- You can borrow these from the Visitor Reception building. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- An accessible golf cart with a fold down ramp 86cm wide is available.
The cart can be used to take visitors to the main hall and gardens.
Route to (the Maze and Home Farm Play Area)
- From the Visitor Reception exit proceed along the footpath passing the toilets on the right.
Passing through the permanently held open gate continue along the footpath where you will see the courtyard for the Home Farm Restaurant.
The entrance to the Maze and Play Area is opposite the courtyard. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located opposite the courtyard toilet block.
- Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are picnic tables.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 78cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to compacted earth and grass.
Outdoor Spaces (Maze)
- This information is for the access point located at the front of the Maze, opposite the Play Area.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The width of the gap is 160cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a Maze.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: gravel and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are more than 3 steps with handrails in the main areas .
- There is stepped access to a viewing platform.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Outdoor Spaces (Home Farm Play Area)
- This information is for the access point located at the front of the play area.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark and rubber mulch or rubber bark.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Playground
View
- There is a fenced play area with an entrance over 100cm wide.
- The gate is easy to open but does not have a high colour contrast with the fence.
- There are no firm and even routes over 150cm wide round the play equipment.
- The play equipment is in easy reach for seated and standing users, and users of different heights.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding and climbing.
