Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, activity sheets and accessible maps.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- An accessible golf cart with a fold down ramp 86cm wide is available.
The cart can be used to take visitors to the main hall and gardens.
Route to (Childe of Hale Play Trail and Woodland Trail)
- From the Visitor Reception exit doors proceed along the footpath passing the toilets on the right hand side.
Passing through the permanently held open gate proceed along the footpath where you will see the courtyard for Home Farm Café.
The access point for the Childe of Hale Play Trail is past the Maze and Home Farm Play Area. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces (Childe of Hale Play Trail)
- This information is for the access point located at the rear of the Home Farm Play Area.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The width of the gap is 150cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings, compact earth and uncompacted earth.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings, compact earth and uncompacted earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.
- The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
- The following play experiences are available: sliding, climbing, balancing and crawling.
- The Woodland Trail is a follows on from the Childe of Hale Play Trail.
The surface area around the trail can become very muddy when wet.
