Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
- The accessible visitor shuttle bus operates from the front of the café.
An accessible drop-off point is also available, please ask a member of staff at the Visitor Reception upon arrival who can direct you to the drop-off point.
Route to (the Priest's House)
- Take the slope to the left after you exit the Visitor Reception and then left again the bottom of the slope.
There are several steep slopes, down and up to The Garden through wooded and open areas.
Some parts of the route may be dark during times of cloudy weather.
There are several wooden bench seats available along the route.
There is a very steep slope at the end of the route into The Garden.
Take the path on the left to the front of the Manor House and then go left, down three flights of steps.
Continue through an open door where the Priest's House is straight ahead via 3 steps. - The route to the area includes more than 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, paving stones and bonded gravel.
Entrance (Left)
- The entrance surveyed is located to the front left hand side of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 114cm.
- There is no access from this entrance to the entrance at the right hand side of the building.
Stairs (Entrance Right)
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, 1.
- There are 10 steps between floors.
- The steps are not clearly marked with handrails on both sides.
- The highest step is 11cm high.
- Lighting levels are varied.
Entrance (Right)
- The entrance surveyed is located to the front right hand side of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors which are permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 119cm.
- There is no access from this entrance to the entrance at the front left of the building.
Tour
- The tour is self-guided and volunteers/staff are not available to provide additional information.
- The tour takes approximately 20 minutes.
- There is stepped access along the tour route.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The tour can not be adapted to avoid inaccessible areas.
- Areas with stepped access only can be experienced by visitors via a photo album.
- There is no (or very little) background noise along the tour route.
- Tour information includes the following formats: information board.
- The tour does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There are no seats at regular intervals along the tour.
- Some flooring along the tour route is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
- Lighting levels are low along parts of the tour route.
- There are steps into and out of the bedroom on the first floor.
