- The most accessible entrance has step-free level access, a manual door and a door permanently held open.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from the Visitor Reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (The Gift Shop)
- Turn left on exiting the Visitor Reception, follow the path to the right of the oast.
Turn left and the Gift Shop is directly ahead on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Shop
- There is step-free level access into the shop.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 82cm.
- Internally the door has a high colour contrast.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around some of the shop.
- Access around the shop is via steps and a platform lift.
- There is background noise here.
- Lighting levels are varied.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 76cm.
- There is a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- Services/facilities available in the shop include: a portable card machine for payment and a member of staff to provide assistance.
