Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (Servants' Quarters)
- With the visitor reception building to your right, head to the pathway crossroads. The walled garden is straight ahead. Turn left at this junction and continue until you get to the fork in the path. At the fork take the left hand path and continue until you get to Park Farm on your right. Go past the farm and there is a small gate and metal fence. The gate opens away from you and has a width of 105cm. Open the gate and continue. The path bends to the right. You will pass a monument tower (the tower of the winds) to your right. Continue on the path and in the distance you will see the Hall. Before the Hall there is another fork in the path. Straight on takes you to the Hall and the left hand fork takes you to the archway in Midden Yard. Go past the archway and at the corner of the building is the entrance to the servants' quarters.

- Path surfaces along the route are bonded gravel.

Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building in an annexe to the left of the main Hall.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors which are permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 130cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
Tour
- The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.
- The tour takes approximately 30 minutes.
- There is stepped access along the tour route.
- There are doorways or openings used on the tour which are under 75cm wide.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The tour can be adapted to avoid inaccessible areas.
- There is no (or very little) background noise along the tour route.
- Floor plans/maps are available for the tour route.
- The tour does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There are chairs without armrests at regular intervals along the tour.
- Some flooring along the tour route is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven floorboards.
- Lighting levels are low throughout the tour route.
- The tour is circular.
The steps are located in the middle of the laundry room.
It is possible to go back to the start then head in the other direction to avoid using these steps.
