Summary

- The most accessible entrance has a slight ramp/slope and an open entrance with no doors.

- This site is not part of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: a Changing Places facility and a parent and baby room.
- There is a Changing Place which can be found behind the west wing, in front of the play area.
- The nearest toilet with adaptations for disabled people is located in the area at the rear of the stables. View information about this toilet (new tab).
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, sunglasses, binoculars, communication cards and sensory maps.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: trampers. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Delaval Playdium)
- Exit the visitor reception and turn right.
Follow the path past the steps to the central hall rear entrance.
Continue into the formal gardens and follow the path around.
Take the path and gated access point on the right and then turn left.
Continue ahead and then turn left past the Changing Places facility.
Delaval Playdium is on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located at the front right of the hall.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The width of the gap is 170cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment and woodland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, rubber mulch or rubber bark and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are slight slopes on the paths around the playground.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- There is a route around the play equipment which is firm and even, and is at least 150cm wide.
- The play equipment is in easy reach for seated and standing users, and users of different heights.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, climbing, balancing, crawling and viewing.

- The facility is not additional to standard and accessible toilets, and is not located close to other managed facilities.
- There is not a sign at the entrance to the Changing Places facility indicating the location of the nearest toilets and baby changing facilities.
- Access into the facility is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The ramp is under 75cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 72cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- The door does not have a horizontal grab rail.
- The dimensions of the facility are 202cm x 362cm.
- The ceiling height is at a minimum height of 2.4m and there is a clear 200cm x 180cm manoeuvring space in the facility.
- The facility has a non-slip floor.

- There are lateral transfer spaces on both sides of the seat.
- The transfer space on the right as you face the toilet is 80cm.
- The transfer space on the left as you face the toilet is 90cm.
- The following grab rails are available: vertical grab rails on both sides of the toilet and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: all grab rails, the internal door, the toilet seat and the dropdown rail.
