Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (Shop)
- From the Blue Badge parking, head to the front of the car park and to the left.
Follow the path signed to the Tearoom and Toilets.
The Toilet Block is ahead on the left.
Turn right into the courtyard, and the entrance to the Shop is ahead. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance (From Tearoom Courtyard)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the far side of the Tearoom Courtyard.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 107cm.
Entrance (From Grounds)
- The entrance surveyed is located on the far side of the House forecourt.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The slight ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 93cm.
- The shop is used to exit the grounds, via this door, then the door into the Tearoom Courtyard.
Shop
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around the shop.
- There is background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 90cm.
- There is a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
