Route to (Thames Path)

  • Leave the car park via the exit towards the main road.
    Turn left and take the pedestrian crossing to the opposite path.
    Head right, then turn left along the path to the Thames.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located on the opposite side of Windsor Road to the Magna Carta Tea Room.
  • Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: a path with seating alongside the Thames.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and bonded gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
  • The path is mostly level, but has some slight slopes.
    The grass either side is uneven with more pronounced slopes.

Picnic Area

  • The following information describes the picnic area located at the start of the Thames Path.
  • Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are bench seats.
  • No chairs have armrests on both sides.
  • Adapted picnic tables are not available.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to compacted earth.

Hikes and Trails (Thames Path)

  • The walk is approximately 0.5 miles long.
  • Follow the path alongside the Thames and return along the same path.
    For a longer, circular route, which includes steep slopes and uneven surfaces, cross the road when signed and return via the Summer Walk route (approximately 1.8 miles long).
  • The hike is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass and compacted gravel.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
