Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- Equipment cannot be borrowed or hired.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (Longmede and Magna Carta Memorial)
- Head to the rear of the car park where the accessible route to Longmede and the Magna Carta Memorial begins.
- The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces (Longmede)
- This information is for the access point located on the left along the accessible route path.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and compact earth.
- Footpaths are not available in all of the outdoor space.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes with handrails in the main areas .
- The grass area is mostly level, but there are slight slopes in places.
Outdoor Spaces (Magna Carta Memorial)
- This information is for the access point located on the right along the accessible path.
- Access into the area is via steps and a steep ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are 6 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens towards you (pull).
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The gate has a latch lock.
- The width of the gap is 116cm.
- The steps could be bypassed using the grass.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac and grass.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- There are more than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas .
- There are an additional six steps onto the memorial itself.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The memorial can also be experienced by video, by scanning the QR code on the sign before the gate.
Hikes and Trails (Accessible Route)

Follow the path, which leads to the Writ in Water building.
Take the same path back to the car park. - The hike is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.

- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has handheld maps and online maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
