Route to (Coopers Hill)

  • Head to the rear of the car park and start along the accessible route.
    Follow the accessible route path all the way to the end.
    Go around the Writ in Water building, and the gate to access Coopers Hill is ahead.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, muddy and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located at the end of the accessible route path.
  • Access into the area is via steps and steep ramps/slopes.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are 10+ steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
  • There is a kissing gate at the surveyed access point.
  • The gate is not self-closing.
  • The width of the gap is 100cm.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland and open countryside.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, compact earth and uncompacted earth.

Hikes and Trails (Views Route)

  • The walk is approximately 1.5 miles long.
  • Follow the accessible route from the rear of the car park to the Writ in Water building.
    Go around the Writ in Water building and continue by an unsurfaced route.
    Pass through a kissing gate, then up a section of steep slopes and steps.
    Follow the sign to the right.
    At some points the route here has sections of boarded walkways, and a footbridge over muddy sections.
    A kissing gate leads to the open area at the top of Coopers Hill, affording wide views over the surrounding country.
    Continue over the hill to return to the accessible path and back to the car park.
  • The hike is not open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass.
  • Some of the route contains steep gradients and steps.
  • These are found in the following areas: leading to the top of Coopers Hill.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has handheld maps and online maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
