Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.

Route to (Tea Room)

  • From the visitor centre, proceed straight ahead along the signed path towards the tea room entrance.
    Continue to the right along the side of the tea room building .
    The disabled access entrance is ahead at the rear of the building.
    There are slight slopes on the pathways leading to the entrance.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, concrete and paving stones.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance (Disabled Access)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the right hand side of the building.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
  • The slight ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 77cm.

Entrance (Car Park)

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the left of the building from the car park.
  • There is stepped access at the entrance.
  • The slight ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are 2 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
  • All of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 80cm.

Entrance (Courtyard)

  • The entrance surveyed is located in the courtyard at the rear of the visitor centre and café.
  • There is stepped access at the entrance.
  • There is 1 step, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
  • The step is not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 80cm.

Eating and Drinking (Café)

  • This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
  • Access into the area is via a step.
  • There is 1 step, which is unmarked, with no handrails.
  • There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
  • Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
  • Menu types include: written wall menus.
  • Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
  • The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery, a portable card machine for payment, large-handled mugs and large-handled cutlery.

Picnic Area (Tea Room/Garden)

  • The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.

Toilet with Adaptations (Courtyard - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located in the courtyard picnic area.
  • Access into the toilet is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • This toilet is approximately 9m from the visitor centre rear entrance.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 84cm.
  • The door has a sliding bolt lock.
  • Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 158cm x 203cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
  • The lateral transfer space is 84cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the transfer side.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.
