Route to (the Stable Yard)

  • Turn right after exiting visitor reception and go over the bridge.
    Turn right and follow the path passing the house on the right.
    The stable yard will be ahead of you.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth and tarmac.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance (Stable Yard)

  • The entrance surveyed is located on the house side of the stable yard.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There are double manual gates which are permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 282cm.

Picnic Area

  • The following information describes the picnic area located within the stable yard area.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There are tables, stools and picnic tables.
  • Some chairs have armrests on both sides.
  • Adapted picnic tables are not available.
  • The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 51cm.
  • The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 66cm.
  • The surface height of the lowest table is 53cm.
  • The surface height of the highest table is 75cm.

  • Lighting levels are moderate to good.
  • There are coffee tables and chairs without armrests available in the activity area.

Entrance (Toilets)

  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 84cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.

Toilet with Adaptations (Stable Yard - Ambulant - Right Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located to the right after you enter the stable yard.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 5m from the stable yard entrance.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is push pad activated, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
  • The door has a locking handle.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 146cm x 285cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.
