Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and a mountain trike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Kestrel Corner Play Area)
- On exiting visitor reception, follow the path ahead and take the third path on the right.
Take the turning on the left by the Beech Hut Kiosk.
Continue past the kiosk, along Admirals Walk, then take the path on the right.
The play area is on the left. - The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located just off Admirals Walk.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: rubber tarmac, wood bark and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The main path has a slight slope as it approaches the picnic area.
There are some slight and steeply sloped areas between the play equipment. - There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Playground
View
- There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.
- The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, rocking, climbing, balancing, viewing, sensory (visual, audible and or tactile).
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located within the play area.
- Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There are picnic tables.
- No chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are available.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 72cm.
- The distance between the floor and the underside of the highest picnic table is 83cm.
- The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
- There is no step-free level access around the area.
- The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to compacted earth, grass and loose chippings.
