Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs and mountain trikes. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Parkland)
- From the car park, join the path to the house.
Go past the house and follow the path round to the right, past the courtyard. The parkland area is to the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located along the path running in front of the house.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass, compact earth and uncompacted earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The ground around the middle lake is uneven and has slight and steep slopes throughout.
The parkland area closer to the house may have slight slopes. - There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have gates which may create obstacles for some users.
Hikes and Trails (Parkland Perimeter Walk)
- The walk is approximately 1.5 miles long.
- From the car park, join the path to the house.
Go past the house and follow the path round to the right.
Follow the tarmac path ahead through the parkland to the gate onto Osterley Lane.
Follow the lane to the right.
After the lane goes around middle lake, take the path on the right back to the car park. - The walk is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, compacted gravel and mud.
- The route is not clearly signposted.
- The route has online maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
