Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and communication cards.

Route to (Demesne)
- Exit visitor reception and go up the slope straight ahead from the exit.
Turn left at the end of the path and pass the house.
After approximately 800 metres, the path for the demesne is on the right. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located off the demesne walks trail, approximately 800 metres after passing the house.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, grass, gravel, compact earth, uncompacted earth, loose stones and wood.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- The area is step-free and level until you take the compacted earth paths off the tarmac paths. There are slight and steep slopes after this point.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Hikes and Trails
- The trail is approximately 28 km of routes.
- The trail consists of Woodland; Mixed Broadleaf and Coniferous, Farmland, parkland, Ponds, streams and glades.
- The hike is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: tarmac, grass and wood.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients.
- These are found in the following areas: The gradients are marked on the main map. There are two short 40 metre sections of slope with a gradient that exceeds 20 degrees but less than 30.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has information boards with large maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are standard toilet facilities along the route.
- The public toilets are located at Temple of the Winds.
