Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the House)
- From visitor reception, take the pathway over the River Test and then turn immediately right onto a gravel pathway.
Follow this pathway along the riverside all the way to the east side of the house, where the most accessible entrance will be found on the left. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are loose wood chippings, gravel, muddy, paving stones and wood.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Entrance (Ground Floor - East)
- The entrance surveyed is located on the east side of the house.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 91cm.
Entrance (Ground Floor - Cellarium)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front and left of the house.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 86cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Entrance (First Floor - West)
- The entrance surveyed is located on the west side of the house.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is under 75cm wide, with no handrails.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
- There are 2 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- Some of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There are double manual doors which are permanently open.

Visitor Reception (First Floor Entrance)

Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus.
- Menus are not easy to read (unclear font with poorly contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, easy grip cutlery and large-handled cutlery.

- This toilet is approximately 5m from the ground floor east entrance to the house.
- There is no signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 88cm.
- The door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 184cm x 228cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.
