Summary

Route to (Hall)
- From the visitor reception turn left after the exit and follow the path to the end.
At the end of this path turn right. The track is very uneven. Follow signs for the entrance to the Hall.
The entrance is down the track on the left.
There are 2 entrances, the Kings entrance and the Hall entrance.
The Hall entrance is the most accessible and is also the exit. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, gravel, muddy and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance (Hall Entrance)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the rear of the Hall on the right.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 88cm.
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and magnifying glass.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Entrance (Kings Entrance)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the rear of the building to the left.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 87cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
Tour
- The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.
- The tour takes approximately 45 minutes.
- There is stepped access along the tour route.
- There are doorways or openings used on the tour which are under 75cm wide.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The tour can be adapted to avoid inaccessible areas.
- Areas with stepped access only can be experienced by visitors via a video on tablet or mobile phone.
- There is no (or very little) background noise along the tour route.
- The following may be experienced on the tour: smoke, fog, or misting effects and lighting effects.
- Tour information includes the following formats: information booklets.
- The tour does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There are bench seats at regular intervals along the tour.
- Flooring along the tour route is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles and uneven floorboards.
- Lighting levels are low throughout the tour route.
Stairs
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are 1, 2.
- There are 16 steps between floors.
- The steps are not clearly marked with handrails on both sides.
- The highest step is 16cm high.
- Lighting levels are low.
