Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from the garden centre. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Adventure Play Area)
- From the car park, cross the wooden bridge directly ahead, go straight on, and through the gate.
Turn right, then left at Snuff Mill. Then take a right over the white bridge.
The adventure play area is down a path on the left. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, tarmac, gravel, muddy, cobbles, paving stones, bonded gravel and wood.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the left of the white bridge, off the main footpath.
- Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment, a grassed play area, parkland and woodland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark, bonded gravel, compact earth, uncompacted earth, shingle, loose stones and wood.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There is an elevated pathway that runs through the adventure playground that has slight ramps at each end and is between 120cm and 180cm wide.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
