Route to (the Porters' Lodges)
- From the visitor reception, go straight ahead towards the house.
Go between the hedges and turn right before the house and the south porters lodge will be ahead of you.
To get to the North Porters Lodge, go past the house and enter the north garden.
Turn right and the North Porters Lodge will be ahead of you. - The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance (South Porters Lodge)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the end of the path, between the house and the cedar lawn.
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 65cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- There is 1 step beyond the entrance, which is unmarked, with no handrails.
- The step is not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
Attraction / Exhibit (South Porters Lodge)
- The majority of walkway widths are over 180cm.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- The exhibits do not have hearing assistance systems.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are no seats available in the area.
- Flooring in the area is not smooth and even.
