Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Garden)
- From the car park follow the path up the steep slope until you reach the front of the House.
The garden entrance is to the right. - The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, tarmac and cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the right of the House.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens away from you (push).
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The gate has a padlock.
- The width of the gap is 120cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens and gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, gravel and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- There are slight slopes along the accessible path.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
Toilet with Adaptations (Garden Toilet Block - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located within the toilet block in the Garden.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
- The door has a twist lock.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 170cm x 215cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 110cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a lever flush on the non transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: toilet roll holder.
