Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located in front of the Longshaw Café.
- Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is an easy open gate at the surveyed access point which opens both ways.
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The gate has a latch lock.
- The width of the gap is 87cm.
- This access point allows access to the open countryside and woodland areas, including the orange, pink and blue trails.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland, farmland and open countryside.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, gravel, compact earth, uncompacted earth and loose stones.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails, steep ramps/slopes without handrails and less than 3 steps without handrails in the main areas.
- The slopes and level changes are located along the main paths and throughout the open countryside area.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have easy open gates which may create obstacles for some users.
Hikes and Trails (Orange Route)
- The trail is approximately 1.7 miles.
- This route leads from the access point in front of Longshaw Café, around the open countryside and back to its origin.
- The trail is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: gravel, compacted gravel and mud.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients and very uneven surfaces.
- These are found in the following areas: along the main trail.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has online maps.
- Seating is available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
- This route is mostly level for the first 0.7 miles before becoming more uneven with slight and steep slopes.
The trail has protruding stones and tree roots in places, and compacted earth may become muddy after periods of rain.
