Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, binoculars and accessible maps.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Villa)
- Exit visitor reception via the toilets side entrance.
Head up a long steep slope before passing through an open gate to cross the road.
After crossing the road you will pass through another permanently held open gate joining a level gravel path.
Follow the path for approximately 40 metres until you reach the villa on the right. - The route to the area is step-free level and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is under 75cm wide, with no handrails.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
- There are 2 steps, which are unmarkedno handrails.
- Some of the steps are not at the recommended height (between 15cm - 18cm).
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 98cm.
- Visitors can use the lower ground floor exit to access the building.
Tour
- The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.
- The tour takes approximately 1 hour.
- There is stepped access along the tour route.
- The majority of walkway widths are over 180cm.
- The tour can be adapted to avoid inaccessible areas.
- Areas with stepped access only can be experienced by visitors via a video on tablet or mobile phone.

- The steps are not clearly marked with a handrail on the right going down.

Exit
- The exit is located on the lower ground floor, at the rear right of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the exit.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 107cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the exit with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- Visitors can use this door as an entrance to the lower ground floor.
Entrance (Billiard Room)
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the Billiard Room building, opposite the villa courtyard.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going up.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 89cm.
- There is a second manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 90cm.
Attraction / Exhibit (Billiard Room)
- The majority of walkway widths are over 180cm.

Toilet with Adaptations (Villa Courtyard - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located via an entrance in the courtyard at the rear of the villa.

- This toilet is approximately 30m from the exit.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 78cm.
- The door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 160cm x 213cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
