Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.

Route to (the Farmyard)

  • Exit visitor reception via the toilets side entrance
    Head up a long steep slope before passing through an open gate to cross the road.
    After crossing the road you will pass through another permanently held open gate joining a level gravel path.
    Follow the path for approximately 25 metres before taking a left turn.
    Follow this path for approximately 40 metres and you will enter the farmyard.
  • The route to the area is step-free level and is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located across the unnamed road, opposite visitor reception.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: a grassed play area and farmland.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac and gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.

Toilet with Adaptations (Farmyard - Accessible - Right Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located on the left as you follow the walkway to access the farmyard.
  • Access into the toilet is via a steep ramp/slope.
  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 87cm.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of more than 1.5cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 158cm x 298cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat but it is obstructed.
