Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from the visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Parkland and Woodland)
- Exit the visitor reception through the entrance and go to the far end of the Blue Badge car parking area.
Cross the road to the National Trust Impey Walk signpost to the start of the trail around the estate. - The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located leading from the National Trust Impey Walk signpost at the far end of the Blue Badge car parking area.
- Access into the area is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The slope is over 150cm wide.
- There is open access at the surveyed access point.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland and woodland.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, compact earth and uncompacted earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- Slight and steep slopes are located throughout the area.
- There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- The paths have gates which may create obstacles for some users.
Hikes and Trails (Circular Parkland Walk)
- The trail is approximately 4 kilometres long.
- From the National Trust Impey Walk signpost go down the compounded gravel path.
Continue to follow the signposts to complete the walk around whole estate.
The trail ends after you pass the American Garden and come into the rear of the stables. - The trail is not open 24 hours.
- None of the paths are lit at night.
- The route includes the following surfaces: compacted gravel, wood and mud.
- Some of the route contains steep gradients and very uneven surfaces.
- These are found in the following areas: throughout the trail.
- There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
- The route is clearly signposted.
- The route has handheld maps.
- Seating is not available on the route.
- There are no toilet facilities along the route.
- There are gates at various location on this trail.
