Access Guide
Summary

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- Canes and walking poles are also available to borrow free of charge.
These can be borrowed from the visitor reception or the house.
The visitor shuttle is stationed outside visitor reception, but can be summoned to the house, car park, chapel or garden by using the call point in the car park or by speaking to a member of staff or volunteer.
Route to (the Garden)
- Turn right out of the visitor reception through an archway, and take the first path on the right.
Follow the this path towards the house.
Take the path to the left of the house, go through a gated opening and follow the gravel path around the house.
The garden is straight ahead after the house. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel and cobbles.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located to the left side of the house as you approach from the visitor reception.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 115cm.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and gravel.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas.
- There are steep slopes to the top part of the garden.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
