Route to (Mote Café)

  • From the car park, take the turning to the right towards Visitor Reception.
    The entrance to the café is through the gate on the left, then to the left.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.

Toilet with Adaptations (Mote Café - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located located on the right as you approach the café.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 88cm.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 149cm x 210cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
  • The lateral transfer space is 70cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the non transfer side.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.

  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.

  • Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
  • The height of the baby change table is 84cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is push.
  • There is no seating available in the room.

Entrance

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the side of the building.

Eating and Drinking

  • This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
  • There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.

  • Menu types include: Braille menus, large print menus and written wall menus.
  • Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
