Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (Mote Café)
- From the car park, take the turning to the right towards Visitor Reception.
The entrance to the café is through the gate on the left, then to the left. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.
Toilet with Adaptations (Mote Café - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located located on the right as you approach the café.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 88cm.
- The door has a twist lock.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 149cm x 210cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 70cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a lever flush on the non transfer side.

- There is also a female toilet in the same location.

- Lighting levels are moderate to good.

Parent and Baby Room / Baby Feeding Room (Mote Café)
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 78cm.
- Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
- The height of the baby change table is 84cm.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
- There is no seating available in the room.
- There is a toilet in the parent and baby room.
- Waste bins include: a nappy bin and a general waste bin with lid.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the side of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The doors are activated by a push pad at a suitable height for seated users (between 75cm - 100cm).
- The width of the opening is 158cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: Braille menus, large print menus and written wall menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery and a portable card machine for payment.
