Route to (the Coach House)

  • From the Visitor Reception exit, turn right and follow the path.
    Continue ahead and the entrance to the Coach House is on the left.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope and is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel, cobbles and bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is a shuttle which can take visitors to this area, but wheelchair users will need to transfer into it.

Shop (Ground Floor - Second Hand Bookshop)

  • Access into the shop is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the door opening is 126cm.
  • Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
  • The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
  • Some flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
  • There is step-free level access around the shop.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise here.
  • Lighting levels are varied.
  • There is step-free level access to the counter.
  • The height of the counter is 93cm.
  • There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.

  • This toilet is located to the right of the Coach House shop entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 8m from the shop entrance.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 84cm.
  • The door has a sliding bolt lock.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
