Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow these from visitor reception or the manor. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
- All-terrain wheelchairs are also available.
Route to (Parterre and Pleasure Grounds)
- From the visitor welcome kiosk turn right down the tarmac road.
At the end of the pathway is a gate leading to the Parterre and Pleasure Grounds. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located straight ahead as you pass the stableyard.
- Access into the area is via a very steep ramp/slope.
- The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens away from you (push).
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The width of the gap is 150cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: woodland, formal gardens and gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose chippings, compact earth and shingle.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are steep ramps/slopes without handrails and slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- Slight and steep slopes are located along the footpaths of the pleasure grounds. There are also steep slopes between the pleasure grounds and parterre.
- There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
