Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, dark tent and accessible maps.

- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.
Route to (the Walled Garden)
- There is an entrance to the garden immediately ahead as you exit visitor reception.
- The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Outdoor Spaces
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- The access points to the area are located next to visitor reception where there is level access.
There are two other access points. One on the opposite side which has stepped access, and the other to the side of the walled garden which has level access. - There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
- The width of the gap is 163cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac and shingle.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- The slight slopes are on pathways leading from the main pathways through the walled garden.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
