Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • A mountain trike all-terrain push wheelchair can be borrowed free of charge and can be reserved by emailing hindhead@nationaltrust.org.uk. There is a 17st / 100kg weight restriction.

Outdoor Spaces

Picnic Area

Hikes and Trails

  • The walk is approximately 300m.
  • The walk starts at the car park and is a circular route to a sandstone viewing platform overlooking the Devil's Punch Bowl.
  • The walk is open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: gravel and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains steps.
  • The route is not clearly signposted.
  • The route has information boards with large maps, handheld maps and online maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are standard and accessible toilet facilities along the route.
  • There are slight uneven surfaces and loose stones on the route.
    There is a longer walk to the Sailor Stone which is approximately 1 miles.
    Follow the pathway to the right of the car park. The first section of path can be muddy when wet. The pathways beyond this point are generally even and flat. There are 5 unmarked steps with no handrail down to the stone which are uneven in places.
