Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (Winthrop's Café)
- From the visitor reception proceed down a slope, continue through an archway and turn left.
Cross the internal driveway and enter through the gates.
Proceed ahead towards the main courtyard and turn right continuing through open gates.
Continue ahead into the rear courtyard and turn left. Winthrop's Café is located on the left. - The route to the area is step-free level and is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel, paving stones and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located to the side of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 100cm.
- There is a second manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 97cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus and menu boards.
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery, takeaway cutlery, a portable card machine for payment, large-handled mugs and large-handled cutlery.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- There is a counter over 85cm high with a tray rail.

Toilet with Adaptations (Rear Courtyard Toilet Block - Ambulant - Right Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located in the toilet block opposite Winthrop's Café.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 94cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 140cm x 220cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 66cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.

- There is also a male toilet in the same location.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 75cm.
- The wash basin tap type is twist/turn.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
Parent and Baby Room / Baby Feeding Room (Rear Courtyard Toilet Block)
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 78cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- The height of the baby change table is 94cm.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
- There is no seating available in the room.
- There is a toilet in the parent and baby room.
- Waste bins include: a nappy bin.
