Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and magnifying glass.

Route to (the Orchard Gallery)
- Exit the car park to the left and follow the path ahead.
At the fork turn left and continue ahead.
The courtyard entrance will be ahead. Continue past the entrance.
Cross the courtyard to the garden entrance located in the rear left corner.
Once through the entrance, turn right at the fork and continue along the path.
The Orchard Gallery will be ahead. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are cobbles and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- There is stepped access at the entrance.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 73cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of more than 1.5cm.
- There is a slight ramp between 75cm and 150cm wide beyond the entrance, with no handrails.
Attraction / Exhibit
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
- There is background noise which varies, depending on the time of day.
- The exhibits do not have hearing assistance systems.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are bench seats and chairs without armrests available in the area.
- Flooring in the area is not smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
